So my new job has FULLY ramped up and now I am pretty busy all day every day. I drive from meeting to meeting, then come home and start working haha! It is making the days and weeks fly by, but it has been fun.
With this new job, I am making more than my old job. I know it is so taboo to talk about making money, but that is one of the things I think so many people need help with. I saw this article on The Everygirl and knew I wanted to share it with you guys. As we get older, and get new jobs, and start making more money – it is so tempting to spend more! You work hard, you deserve it, right? Not if you have that mentality with every decision….
This training cycle I have been switching off between two pairs of shoes. The Nike Air Zoom Vomero and the Brooks Launch 3. I have talked about my love of the Vomero before, but the Brooks are a bit newer to me. Having come off a stress fracture right before this training block started, I wanted to have two pairs of shoes to switch off between. I have read from multiple sources that having two different pairs of shoes can be helpful because it changes the way your foot strikes the ground – even just slightly – and it can help prevent injuries. I am a big fan of the Vomeros for long runs, speed work and the intense stuff. The Brooks Launch are perfect for my recovery days.
I loved this from RunEMZ on her Facebook:
Too funny and too accurate! Sometimes I definitely feel like running lets me run away from all those things.
Also pretty sure I am IN LOVE with this scarf from Lululemon. I mean I am obsessed with these scarves anyway – but the little braid detail? So pretty!
On another fun side note – tomorrow is my birthday! Another year older and another year closer to getting 5 more minutes to qualify for Boston HAHA!! What am I am doing for my birthday, you ask? What any sane person would do – get up before the sun and run 20 miles!! I can’t wait! 20 miles on the 20th!
