This was my last big mileage week before the taper! One 16 miler between me and race day.
Monday was the day after the Giants Half marathon. So instead of speed work, I opted for 7 recovery miles @ 8:49 average. I did an upper body lift as well.
Tuesday was the day I did my metabolic rate test, which was fasted and prior to working out. So I squeezed in 5 miles @ 7:51 average before work. In the evening, I did a 20 min trainer ride 4.3 miles @ 13 mph.
Friday was my long run day since Melissa came to visit for the weekend. I did 2×2 pick ups at goal marathon pace with final 4 miles as a fast finish. This means 2 miles were up at 7:30, then 2 miles were down at 8:30. Then the final 4 miles were progresssing down to 7:00 average pace. 21 miles total @ 7:55 average.
