The weekend after Boston, I did not run. I wanted to take a full week off and feel like I was really craving a run again. We did go to Urban Putt Putt though. And eat a lot of pretzel knots and mini corn dogs. And it was fantastic.
The Transamerica Tower was my favorite hole. Was it because my Great Grandfather helped design the Transamerica building? Maybe. Was it because I got it on the first try? Also maybe.
Another weekend matter: ceviche. It is so good. We found a really good restaurant that made ceviche which was almost as good as what my dad and I had in Peru. The super crispy delicious plantain chips didn’t hurt either.
Bennie and I also went to the Off The Grid Presidio Picnic. It is basically a bunch of food trucks that gather around a huge flat grassy area. Everyone kind of sets up camp. It was my friends birthday, so party hats were needed. Bennie loved laying in the sun and being petted by everyone and sharing my grilled chicken.
Roll Recovery sent me one of their awesome stretch mats. I love it so much! Bennie does think it is for him. Which makes sense, because he is the king of the house. It is cushy and I like not rolling and unrolling an yoga mat. Could I sound any lazier? Will run a marathon but rolling up a yoga mat is just TOO much.
This picture is REAL close up of my skin. Yikes. But the important thing is that I got my eyebrows tinted and I LOVE it. I get them waxed like twice a year so I have a template to follow when I fill them in and when I pluck them myself. When I went this time, I told the lady I go to that I really want to get microblading so that I don’t have to fill in my eyebrows anymore. However, it is super expensive and also a little scary because it is semi-permanent. She convinced me to try tinting my eyebrows first. It was just an extra $10 on top of the waxing treatment, and it made a big difference. I didn’t think it would work on me, because my eyebrows are very fine – so I assumed there was no hair to tint. Not the case. I still fill them in a little – but I really like the effect.
As much as I love traveling, and can’t wait for what the next trip brings, I do love being home and in my routine. Having coffee with Bennie and heading for a run is a pretty great way to start the day!
