Happy Friday friends! I hope you are all having a good week! I am working on my return to running program and that is making me so happy. I talked to my doctor on the phone yesterday, he said that as long as it warms up and feels good when I use it, a little stiffness and pain afterward is normal. When your bone heals, there are a lot of new nerve endings and the bone is reforming, so it is normal for some weird pain. Sounds like I’m on the right track!
Look at how cute Bennie The Dog is. But also, the moment I saw this Sunday Runday tank, I had to have it. Sunday is almost always my rest day – but you know what day races are?! SUNDAYS! Haha. I mean if it is running related I WANT IT OKAY!?
To go along with that, I love Lululemon’s new shorts – Make a Move. Don’t get me wrong, the Speed Short will always have my heart, but these are really cute. They still have a little hidden pocket too. I do with Lulu would engineer a short that has a pocket big enough for my phone, but not one that involves compression shorts to hold the phone. I don’t like those. I’m sure Lululemon is reading my blog avidly and will get right on that….
These Vans slip ons are LIFE. I recognize I am only wearing one of them in the picture below, but it is the only picture I have of me wearing them and I was still about that boot life at the time. I love them so much. They are so cute and comfy, but a little more dressed up than a running shoe. Additionally, they look good with leggings AND jeans. Plus they are under $60. I hate spending money on shoes that aren’t running shoes!
My green smoothies. I used to think a couple things about smoothies: (1) I do NOT drink my calories (unless its wine) and (2) a smoothie won’t satisfy or fill me up. But my boyfriend started making a smoothie for himself after the gym. He would throw in oats, banana, spinach, whatever was in his fridge/freezer. He always offered me a taste (I know – he shares food!! A skill I need to learn) and they were really good. So I decided to try it out. It is a good way to sneak vegetables and nutrients in with minimal effort – which I am ALL about.
Recipe is super easy: throw a bunch of stuff in a blender. Turn it on. Drink it.
HAHA! What I have been liking is – cashew milk, spinach – a few handfuls because I like it when the smoothie is really bright green (food aesthetics are important people), 1/2 scoop PEScience Snickerdoodle protein powder, and frozen mango.
Other good additions – Siggi’s yogurt instead of the cashew milk, Nuttzo, cocoa powder, berries, bananas. Literally you can’t mess it up. I use a Magic Bullet (the $40 one, not the $80 one), but any type of blender would be good.
I bought these mason jar glasses just for this picture. Seriously. What is wrong with me?
Another food favorite lately is Picky Bar’s Ah Fudge Nuts flavor. I prefer to do my workouts in the morning, then eat breakfast. With running on the Alter-G, my best option is to go mid-day. This means refueling right after. I keep one of these in my car or gym bag at all times. They are also very useful if you are becoming hangry and need a quick snack 🙂
Also – a side note that Nuttzo is having a Spring sale! You can use my discount code on this too!! Kyle-20 on top of the sale price. I hate it when companies are like “Yay sale! But no, you can’t use coupons.” The chocolate power fuel is SO GOOD.
That’s all I got for you this Friday! Have a kick a$$ weekend and let me know what your favorites are in the comments.
