Does anyone else sit on the floor on a regular basis? I do at least once a day. It usually starts with foam rolling and stretching, and then deteriorates into my laying on the floor. I especially like when Bennie comes and joins me.
Dogs are the best. At least once a day, every day, he makes me want to take a deep breath, put down my phone, and focus all my attention on him. Even if I’m running late, even if I’m busy, even if it’s just 5 minutes. Plus our walks are one of the best parts my day.
It has been cold and wet here this week! After last week’s race, I could do without running in the downpour for a few days. I know California needs the rain though, so I am going to stop complaining…out loud. Big plus is that the weather is supposed to be good this weekend.
One of my friends posted this Buzzfeed list on Facebook. #3 is my favorite.
Anyway – since I’m pretty much always trying to warm up and dry out my shoes and clothes, I’ve been obsessed with Pho. I have considered making it at home and trying out this recipe. I’ll let you know when/if that happens.
One last food item, I promise. These Larabar Bites are my jam lately. If I have the ability to wait until the sun comes up to run, I’m usually hungry. I can have a couple of these and it puts just enough in my stomach to keep me going.
I’m still podcast obsessed over here. My Favorite Murder is hilarious. Now, I’m normally the biggest scardy cat about anything crime or murder related. I don’t want to freak myself out with scary or dark things. BUT – these girls are hilarious and very entertaining on my long morning drives for work.
Lastly, I am needing my R8 Roller more than ever. My calves have been so so tight – to the point of being painful when touched. Rolling out with this once or twice a day is saving my legs.
Remember how I told you I got a new blender/smoothie maker/food processor for Christmas? Well I finally got to make the Run Fast Eat Slow Don’t Get Beet Hummus! It was so so good!! If you haven’t tried it yet I highly recommend. Full disclosure – I did not roast a beet like the recipe calls for. I got canned ones ha!
