As always, Happy Friday! Speaking of which – do you ever get worried you are just working for the weekend? Like your life is supposed to have more meaning that working vs. weekends? If you do, I have zero answers for you, but I also think this at times. So, you are not alone. I think some people are very happy to have a job they are passionate about. Or a job that partners well with your passion. But it is also ok to have a job that pays the bills so that you can do your passion on the weekend. Just food for thought.
To make up for that completely underwhelming beginning, I am going to tell you what I’m into this week. Up first is the book “Running with the Buffaloes.” I got it when we were in Boulder – you can read more about that here. It is a story of a season of track with the University of Colorado’s cross country team. So far, I am loving it. The vibe is very “Boys on the Boat.” Plus I love reading about their workouts.
I also got this little Mino Shoe Life Tracker. I haven’t purchased a new pair of shoes yet, but I am really excited to try it out. I am always rotating at least two pairs of shoes, and that makes it hard for me to track the mileage on them. And by “its hard,” what I really mean is that I am too lazy. At least I am honest. On another note – I am sort of holding out for those Nike VaporFly 4% shoes….anyone else?
I recently downloaded the FabFocus app. Mom, yes – this is what the $3.99 iTunes purchase was for 😀 Yes, I am 28 and share an iTunes account with my Mom. Judge me. Love you, Mom!
I wanted to download this app because it gives you the “portrait” effect of the iPhone 7 Plus, or basically that of a DSLR camera. Obviously an app isn’t going to be perfect, but I was really impressed.
Lego Batman movie. I know what you are thinking – kids movie, right? I mean – I suppose it is made with kids in mind. But John, one of his friends, and I watched it and we were all cracking up. I’m not sure if that is saying something about the movie, or our sense of humor. But either way – I quite enjoyed it.
This is also how I feel when it is time to get in the car for work:
I saw this on the internet multiple times this week and knew you all would understand.
Another app for you – if you are doing any traveling this summer, SeatGuru is awesome. And it is free! It basically lets you look up the positives/negatives to an airplane seat before you pay the money to upgrade.
What are your summer reads?
How do you track miles on your shoes?
