I hope you all had a fantastic Thanksgiving! The holidays always used to stress me out because of all the FOOD. I would worry that I would overeat, or that people would question why I was eating what I was or wasn’t eating, or that somehow what I was eating would be judged. It has taken me a lot of practice, but every year, I get better and better at just enjoying the moment. Overeating is not the end of the world, and feeling too full does NOT make you a bad person. I am also older and more confident, so if I don’t want to eat something, I just don’t. And I don’t let anyone guilt me into feeling like I have to. So I hope you are enjoying the holidays, not worrying about what or how much you are eating, and staying relaxed and focusing on what is important – spending time with family.
Now, on to the SHOPPING!
I did an entire post about cold weather running – but this is all about my favorite things to keep cozy and comfortable in during the winter. Undoubtedly, Black Friday/Cyber Monday will provide a ton of sales. I thought about trying to do a round up of sales, but I think the fashion bloggers of the internet are better at doing that than myself. My favorite fashion bloggers to follow that give the heads up on sales are: @leannebarlow, @paleomg, @chamgageandchanel, @jeanwang, and @laurenkaysims.
My favorite Patagonia pullover, Lululemon Align pant, Sorel waterproof and warm boots, and my favorite hat from Portland gear. Portland Gear is having a huge Black Friday sale, so make sure to check them out. You can find my suitcase here and backpack here.
These Zella leggings and pullover from Nordstrom are my newest favorites from their line as well. The price point is perfect and the quality is awesome. Size down in their leggings, I get an XS in bottoms and and a small in tops.
I have this Alo Yoga hoodie in two colors (grey and pink), and these leggings from Alo are the perfect mix of thicker fabric for colder days, and a soft waist band that won’t dig in. I get a small in all Alo stuff, although depending on the day, I would wear an XS in bottoms.
This three in one coat from Patagonia is my favorite because it is so versatile. It was an investment, but it is worth it in my opinion.
A longer sweater zip up from Lululemon’s newest releases is on my Christmas list as well as this olive green scarf. I love the longer length of the zip up, especially for cold weather, and the soft scarf is perfect for flying and using as a pillow or a blanket. I size up in most Lululemon – I buy a 6 because I like my stuff to fit a little looser.
And lastly, this beanie with a huge pom pom is adorable. I think red is my new favorite color. It is on my Christmas list, as well as being gifted to friends. These cute Portland Gear beanies are also on my Christmas list. Can you tell I like a pom pom beanie?
And you can say what you like about Ugg, but LL Bean slippers will beat Uggs any day in my book. These are the perfect, fluffy, warm and soft slippers to hang around the house in. Plus I like that they have all-weather bottoms so that I can walk outside to my grill while wearing them.
I hope you get all your Christmas shopping done early so that you don’t have any stress over the rest of the holiday season!
