I can’t believe another Friday is here! And this weekend’s long run is only 10 miles. You know you are training for a marathon when you add the word “only” in front of any amount of miles – but especially double digit miles. That is the kind of thing you can’t say in front of non marathon running friends without having them hate you a little bit.
I think it is going to be raining Saturday and I am so grateful for this rain jacket and this rain jacket that I got this winter. Both were used A LOT. Often switching off while one was drying because we had so much rain.
Here are my loves this week:
Van Corland Shorts from Tracksmith – I have been wearing these for a little while, but recently acquired a second pair because I love them so much. You guys know I love my Lululemon Speed Shorts, but these are quickly becoming my favorites. The cut is really flattering, and I love the Tracksmith logo. I just wish they’d put a zipper on the pocket for your keys.
I just typed pizza instead of the word zipper. Clearly I need some pizza in my life!
The Skimm shared a link for this fancy toothbrush called Quip. If you sign up for The Skimm, they offer a discount. However, even without that it is still a great price for an electric toothbrush. The first reason they sucked me into buying it is because they send a replacement brush head every 3 months – and for a whole year ( and that costs $5). I hate buying replacement brush heads for electric toothbrushes because they are so so expensive! The second reason I bought it is because it is cordless and takes up very little space on the counter. I am weird and hate having anything out on countertops. Especially things with cords. Its very OCD of me, I know.
I paid a little more for the cool copper handle instead of the plastic one. And the little stand it sits in turns into a travel case which is pretty awesome.
My friend Rhandi on Instagram posted her taper concoction of Emergen-C and doTERRA On Guard, and I immediately ordered. So smart of her to up the vitamin C during the taper. It does seem that as we ease up on the work to begin our taper, our bodies are most susceptible to sickness. Rhani is also a badass runner, so her advice gets an A+ from me 🙂
I subscribe to “The Morning Shakeout” newsletter. Mario Fraioli is local to Marin and always has interesting things to share. I loved this article that he shared about the NBA’s obsession with PB&J sandwiches as a pregame meal. Between my obsession with peanut butter and banana sandwiches, and my obsession with wanting to know what everyone eats all the time, it really struck a chord with me. I never promised to be normal, you guys.
Madewell jewelry is the best. They always have unique styles and the price point isn’t out of control. P.S. I am giving my nails a break from gel manicures for awhile and I miss having them painted!
When I went to Nordstrom and found these bracelets, I also found this purse. Would you pay $500 for a wicker camel handbag?
Have a great Friday and kick a$$ on your runs this weekend! Whether that means taking your recovery miles, hitting your paces, or conquering some hills.
