First of all, thank you so much for all the positivity and support on my last post! You guys are the best! Now, onto the important stuff – my favorites this week.
LIKEtoKNOW.it – I’m going to apologize and say your welcome all at once. This is a website that you sign up for & it links to your Instagram account. Fashion bloggers are connected with this website as well. When they post a photo – like the one below from http://fortheloveoffancy.com – the provide links to purchase the items they are wearing. Once you are signed up for the service, following the blogger, and you like the photo on Instagram, you will receive an email with links. Using this photo as an example, I liked it, and then got links for the jeans & shoes.
This is SUPER dangerous for your checkbook for obvious reasons. However, I am totally the type of person that does not go out of their comfort zone when buying new clothes. Oversized sweaters, legging/skinny jeans, boots and done. So this is a great way to get out of your comfort zone and try some new things.
Snapchat Stories: I didn’t realize how many fitness, lifestyle, travel, ect bloggers post on their Snapchat stories. It is a really fun way to keep up with them. Most of them tend to post snaps more often than they post on Instagram, YouTube, ect. Some of my favorites are: EatingthroughSF (ETSF), Kelly Roberts (RunSelfieRepeat), MyHeartRaces (MyHeartRacesBlog.com), Brooks Running, and RunTriMom (Steph Johnson). You get a little more intimate peak into daily lives, what they are eating and workouts. I love that stuff. My snapchat username is jenniferlkyle (don’t forget the L).
Stand up paddle boarding as active recovery: I talked about this a little bit in my training update last week. It is a pretty easy activity to master, but still requires some physical effort. You have to keep your core strength to stay balanced, and use your upper body to paddle of course. However it isn’t super hard to do or to learn. I just learned by going with the BF, but after a few minutes I had it pretty well down. You can do a class if you really felt like you needed it. I go to Sea Trek in Sausalito & its $25 an hour to rent a board.
My new fire pit from Target. I’ve only had it a week and I can already tell I’m going to get a ton of use out of it. It was about a hundred bucks – which for a fire pit is not that much money. It uses a small propane canister that is easy to buy at Ace hardware and not too pricey. It has a big enough edge that I can put my wine glass on it (which is clearly the most important feature) & is easy to turn on and off.
Incrediwear: I used to use their knee braces when I first started running and had some knee pain. Now I like the knee braces and calf sleeves for recovery. I LOVE their socks. They have super warm socks that I wear like slippers. Especially this time of year when it isn’t air conditioner/heater season – I try to avoid turning on the heat. However that is easier said than done with constantly cold feet!
Everyone have a great Easter weekend!
