To those of you that sent me your favorites last week, I loved them! Please continue to send or comment what you are loving lately! It is so much fun.
Tomorrow I’m doing a long run and then coffee and snuggles will be in order! I have been waffling between running 10, 8 or 13 miles. So we will see how my body parts are feeling haha!
John and I watched Race – about Jesse Owens, last weekend. It was so good! It was really interesting to learn more about his career and his time in the Olympics, and the history of the German/US relationship at that time as well.
I am constantly updating my running playlist on Spotify (you can listen and download it here).
These three songs are ones I am especially excited about lately:
- Burn It Down by Timeflies
- Beast – Southpaw Remix
- Hear Me Now – 3OH!3 (The whole album is good in my opinion.)
I am also greatly enjoying the Anna Faris Is Unqualified podcast. Fair warning – it is kind of raunchy humor! I love podcasts for easy runs – and they are a good way to know if you are running easy enough, seriously. A good way to know if you are running easy enough on your easy days is that you can hold a conversation easily. Since I always run alone, I go by heart rate, and if I can easily listen and enjoy a podcast, then I know that is a good too.
I started running in the Nike Air Zoom Vomero 11 on June 2. My podiatrist suggested a running shoe with more cushion. He suggested this because as I have made my return to running after my recent stress fracture, I was having a bit of sesamoiditis (which just means irritation of the sesamoid bone). He suggested either Hokas or these shoes. I wasn’t able to get comfortable in Hokas last time I tried them, so I ordered these from Road Runner. Verdict? Love them so much! My feet seem happy and my orthotic inserts fit in them perfectly.
Also, if you haven’t thought about Road Runner’s VIP membership, I would recommend it. It’s a few bucks for the whole year, and you get expedited shipping and free exchanges up to 90 days after trying a pair of shoes. I also give them HUGE props for the way they shipped me my Honey Stinger Salted Caramel waffles. Why is that? Because they bubble wrapped the carton so that not a single waffle was crumbled or broken – HALLELUJAH!! No, they did not pay me anything to say that.
I got Bennie this hat. HAHA. Poor thing! He looks so unhappy in this picture! But I took it off after like .5 seconds and you can see his tail is wagging!!
Also we voted together. Yes, I put him on my table to take this picture. No, I don’t think that’s gross or weird #crazydoglady
What is everyone doing this weekend?
What do you love right now?
Is it weird that writing about the Honey Stinger salted caramel waffles is making my mouth water? They are so delicious.
