First up: This is not a sponsored post – I bought these with my own money, and Icon didn’t give me anything to do this.
Ok – so I have been seeing these Icon meals and cookies all over Instagram. Everyone seems to love their cookies and meals. Especially the bikini competition/bodybuilding set. I love a macro friendly cookie – so I had to give them a try when they had a 1/2 off sale.
Here are the details:
1 cookie is pretty big and thick. I would say similar to the size of a Lenny & Larry’s cookie.
Nutrition for one ENTIRE cookie: calories 280/protein 15g/carbs 32g/fat 11g/sugar 10g/sodium 260mg/fiber 3g
The shipping is pretty pricey for Icon meals, so it is best to get stuff from them when they have a sale. Also, the shipping for their snacks (popcorn, cookies, ect) is less than for their more perishable foods, for obvious reasons. You can also find athletes that they work with for discount codes. I used “AMANDA” for 10% off the sale price.
The verdict: Pretty good. Obviously it is not a real cookie. I wish it were a little more moist. The previous version of this cookie also had 18g carbs instead of 32g, which would be way better – because I’m all about the volume eating. 150% preferable to a Lenny and Larry’s cookie for me. Also microwaving them for 10 seconds is the way to good. They don’t taste quite as dry that way.
The Lenny & Larry’s cookies are tasty, but not tasty enough for all the calories/carbs/fat/protein – you can just go eat a real cookie and have a protein treat instead of this and get way more food.
Also – note the serving size of the Lenny & Larry’s cookies are HALF a cookie. What? Who eats half a cookie? Sad people, that’s who. To their credit, Lenny & Larry’s did come out with a smaller, single serving size cookie, but it is small.
The Icon meals cookies were fun to try, but I don’t know that I will get them again.
What are protein treats/new foods you guys have loved lately?
