I promise to do a full race recap and an update about my health very soon. But first – I have to tell you about the weekend!
It is pretty cool I get to drive/run over this thing as a part of regular life, no? I try to remember that when I am stuck in traffic…
Although I have a black thumb instead of a green thumb with plants I love succulents. Everyone says they are the hardest plant to kill, but I think I kill mine with love. I heard about this really cute shop called “Succulence“, right near where my doctor’s appointment on Friday was….so of course I had to stop by!
It was REALLY hard not to buy a hundred succulent arrangements. They were pretty pricey, but oh so well done!
Each one of these little arrangements was between $85-$130. I was very proud of myself for resisting.
After that, I walked down the street to another store that was just filled to the brim with cute stuff! It was called Heartfelt. I could have bought all those socks! So cute.
I resisted and instead gave into these funny little mythical creatures, and some candy. Zots have my heart!
I also bought myself flowers because as one of my besties, Alie says #treatyoself – they are so pretty and smell amazing!
I also got this little succulent pin and a TINY SUCCULENT IN A NECKLACE.
Look at how cute it is! It is really a real plant! You are supposed to dunk the whole necklace in water once a month. I give it 3 months to live. Hahaha!
Also, I attempted making the deviled eggs I told you about last week. I asked Siri how far in advance you can make deviled eggs, and this is what she heard. I giggled pretty hard. Excuse my 5 year old sense of humor 🙂
P.S. the deviled eggs did not come out exactly as I had hoped. I should have let the filling sit in the fridge for a bit before piping it into the the eggs. Oh well – live and learn.
I got a new 19 Crimes cork last week! The different crimes are what would get you sent to Australia back in the day – each cork has a different crime. I am trying to collect all 19 – better than Pokemon in my opinion.
I made chicken sausage with half a sweet plantain and sautéed spinach with lemon and garlic for dinner on Friday night. So good! I will be making this often from now on.
When Bennie hears the knife hit the bottom of the almond butter/Nuttzo jar – he comes running!
Also – now that I know that you all search for the perfect pre-race banana like I do, I had to share that I found perfect pre-race bananas LOL!
On Saturday I got to have lunch with Gregg and a bunch of amazing women from the Fleet Feet Sacramento racing team. It was so much fun!!
It was exactly what I needed. They were all amazing people!
And they all understood the need for many photo ops!

And this amazing photo stolen from Jen!!
I had my favorite salad for dinner on Saturday night and Sunday was race day! Recap to come soon when there are race photos to go with!
How was your weekend?
Ever meet up with internet friends in real life?
Are you a good gardener or a plant killer LOL?
