Macros for one serving: 51C/14F/27P & 445 calories
This is my favorite thing to have the night before a long run. It is super simple to make and reheats well if you need to do a make ahead.
Barilla Protein Plus Spaghetti
Ridell’s Chicken Meatballs (any flavor, but I prefer Italian for this)
Healthy Choice Lower Sodium Marinara
And that is literally IT. Boring right? But so so good.
Here are a few tweaks to make it taste even better:
– Add some salt to the boiling water
– Add minced garlic and stewed tomatoes to the sauce to give it some oomph
The reasons I like making this so much are that it is quick, easy to customize to the number of people you are cooking for, and always tastes good to me. I also like the added protein in the meatballs and pasta. And by having chicken meatballs, it helps keep the fat levels in check, which is important for the next day’s activities.
I usually have this with a side of veggies or salad of some kind.
