Friday night, John and I got Pho for dinner. Salty and carbs from the noodles – not a bad pre-long run dinner at all!
After my run on Saturday, I actually showered and did my hair and socialized instead of being a slug all day! How about that HA?! My birthday is this upcoming weekend, so when we were at brunch last weekend, my friends suggested some kind of meet up at some point. We decided on Bar Bocce in Sausalito at 1pm.
It has been really foggy in the city this summer. It is amazing how you can drive across the bridge (to Sausalito) and its 85 degrees. Bar Bocce is really cute, right one the beach and has a bocce ball court. Unfortunately, everyone else had the same idea as us. It was PACKED.
We eventually got a table and it was a blast to see my girls. John was a good sport and came along – who am I kidding – what a lucky guy haha! We really didn’t have enough time/patience to wait around for food once we were finally seated, plus the bocce ball court had a never ending sign up list. So we all enjoyed a drink and called it a day.
John and I had a pair of free movie tickets, so we decided to go see Suicide Squad on Saturday night. I thought it was entertaining and had so many good/well known actors/actresses in it. Probably wouldn’t have paid to watch it in IMAX, but the tickets were $free.99, so it was perfect!
Sunday morning, the girls were planning on going to Off The Grid in the Presidio. Off the Grid is a huge gathering of food carts/trucks. So Bennie The Dog and I hopped in an uber to join them.
When it is held in the Presidio, it is right by the Walt Disney museum and you have a beautiful view of the bay. The fog actually broke for a little bit which was really nice.
Bennie thought the smells of the food truck everywhere were much more interesting than me taking his photo.
I decided to get Ceviche which was delicious! I needed about 80 more tortilla chips to go with it though. It was even topped with the roasted corn kernels that became my favorite food in Peru.
Bennie got his own side of grilled Chicken.
If you are ever in San Francisco on a Sunday, I would highly recommend checking out Off the Grid! The girls and I shared a delicious dessert from Powder that was half shaved ice and half ice cream.
Black sesame flavor topped with oreos and milk glaze. YUM. We were all pleasantly surprised. Bennie was scheming on it too! But no chocolate for him, so he had treats instead.
All in all a great weekend & recovery from my long run!
