Hey all! I was going through all the blogs I like to keep up with tonight, and a post from NYC Running Mama jumped out at me.
You can read it here.
She talks about how your body changes and fluctuates from one training cycle to another, and I think she approaches it in such a balanced and healthy way.
I definitely think my body changes when I’m running more, and I’m curious to see how things respond as this current training cycle progresses. I think I am much more consistent with good fuel these days, so I’m hoping that helps with recovering and prevents injuries better.
I think it is a little bit like studying for a test. As you get closer to the test, you are retaining all the knowledge the best. After the test is over, you aren’t using that knowledge as consistently every day, so it would make sense that you might not remember each piece of information as clearly as you did right before taking the test.
I also think it is equally important to remember to work on loving your body at each stage. I’m not saying that is easy, or even that I don’t completely suck at it. I’m just throwing it out there. Please remember that we are all so much more critical of ourselves than anyone else.
You can find NYC Running Mama on her blog, Instagram and Facebook. She is an amazing runner and someone who I definitely admire in a lot of ways – not just running related! Thank you so much for this post, Michele!
