Extra excited about this Friday because I’m headed to LAX in a little bit to spend the weekend with John. Counting down the hours to a glass of wine! Even better, one of my very favorite friends is able to house sit for me this weekend, so I know #BennieTheDog will be a happy camper too.
Here is what I’m loving this week:
St. Tropez Self Self Tan Classic Bronzing Mousse & Gradual Tan Classic Everyday Lotion – I go through phases of using self tanner. It takes some effort, but I do love being tan. I am so fair skinned, and I try to embrace that. That said – there is nothing like a tan to make you feel good. For the bronzing mousse, I will put it on at night and let it dry completely, then tap baby powder on the “creases” – backs of knees, elbows, tummy, ect. Then put something loose fitting to sleep in. I also put old sheets on my bed. If I want to maintain that tan, and/or do less work – I use the gradual tan.
Lucy Workout Racerback – I won a Lucy gift card from the amazing Knead To Cook (be sure to check out her blog, she is awesome). I am always on the struggle bus with workout shirts because I don’t like them to be tight across my stomach. That is the body part I am most self-conscious about, so I don’t like shirts that are tight across it. I also hate when shirts are really baggy and make you look like you have pooch on your tummy. Lucy’s workout racerback is the perfect combo of fitted silhouette and flattering cut. Plus it comes in a bunch of different colors (I got the striped blue & black).
I know Bennie looks SO unamused by this charade!
The Assistants by Camille Perri – Have you ever had thoughts about how much MONEY certain corporations (or individuals) have? Or thought about what you would do if you could finally afford (insert x, y, or z here)? Then you will like this book – especially if you have, or have had, student loan debt. Quick read, good characters, very entertaining.
Let’s talk watches. I’m adding this to my favorites list this week because I love my Forerunner 225 and REI is having their 20% off sale starting May 20-30.
- The Forerunner 235 is the new version of my watch. It is going to be $80 off I believe. Still not cheap, but a good deal if you are waiting to buy a watch. It has the wrist heart rate monitor which is KEY. Now that I have this, I will never use a chest strap again, ever.
- Forerunner 735XT is the multi-sport version of the 235. This is especially nice because you can use it for swimming, biking, ect and still have the heart rate monitor. The only downside is that if I owned this watch, I would want to wear it 24/7, and the battery life is not great.
- Fenix 3 Sapphire – The Watch. I have been saying that I don’t want to buy this one until they come out with the rose gold version. However, my friend Kindal sent me a screen shot of a post that said something about the white band messes with the heart rate monitor technology. Also, I’ve been wearing my black vivoactive constantly, so I think the black would be perfect. It is just $$$$$!!!
For now, I will just be wearing my Vivoactive for swimming and day wear, and the Forerunner 225 for runs.
Bolthouse dressings are my new food obsession. I have never been a big fan of salad dressing. I don’t really know why, but these have changed my mind. They are so good. My favorites are the Classic Balsamic and Salsa Verde Avocado. Look for them in the cold section – usually produce area. The macros are really good and they taste amazing.
