This was a really good week for me. I had a good quality workout and got to do 2 races over the weekend in Phoenix.
1/8 Monday – 7 miles easy at 8:55 average
I finished with an upper body workout from Move Sweat Shred.
1/9 Tuesday – 2 miles warm up, 2 x 2 @ 7:30 (actual 7:25/7:14/7:09/7:23) with 4 mins rest in between, 2 miles cool. 8 miles total at 7:57.
1/10 Wednesday – 6 miles easy at 9:07 average
Move Sweat Shred workout – legs
1/11 Thursday – 3000 meters, 1:06:27, average pace 2:13/100 yard
1/12 Friday – 3 miles easy at 9:30 average. I would have normally lifted this day as well, but I didn’t so I wouldn’t be sore for racing my first 5k the next day.
1/13 Saturday – 5k race, 3.1 miles @ 6:43 average, 20:51 total time, 2 in my age group, 5th woman overall. There was a bit of a hill in the first mile, so although I was a little disappointed I didn’t run faster – I was excited about my overall placing. I’ll do a full race recap later this week!
1/14 Sunday – I paced my dad in his first Half Marathon! We ran negative splits and he was a rockstar! The real rockstar of course, was my mom. Who was not only supportive of his training, but spectated.
40.3 miles for the week. I didn’t take a day off last week, and didn’t take a day off this week – so I am looking forward to a bit of a down week ahead. I am feeling good and enjoying my workouts. I am getting excited to get as fit as I can before Boston!
