Happy Wednesday! This was the culprit to my ankle drama the last couple of days lol. I stepped on it running in the dark and YOW it hurt. After giving it a second, it felt totally fine, and I finished on with my run.
Several hours later, I had been sitting down for brunch and went to stand up and could barely put weight on it. I did RICE for the evening and by the next morning, it was much better. Being runners, we tend to over do things and push through pain, especially when we have a race on the calendar. With my ankle feeling fine, then hurting a few hours later, I was pretty wary of it feeling good again.
I called our local PT and they told me to come by and they’d be happy to take a look at it. They told me it was totally fine to run on, even though it was still a little tender to the touch, not to stand on, jump on, or put pressure on. He described it as an overstretched rubber band.
Since I had gone to the PT at the end of my work day on Monday, that meant I did my Monday run in the evening heat – not used to that! My phone temp (see above) said 87, but it HAD to have been hotter lol.
And CVS sent me the nicest care package yesterday!!
This weekend we are headed to Chico to see my family and go to Sierra Nevada’s Oktoberfest. This time last year I ran the Berlin marathon, and then we went to Munich for the original Oktoberfest! It was a lot fun and we are excited to see what Sierra Nevada’s will be like.
