The night we got to Prague we walked over the Charles River bridge where there was a movie set for the new spider man movie. They had a GIANT light on a massive barge floating in the river. The most amazing part is that it was all completely gone the next morning at 6:30am.
The first morning in Prague my dad and I got out for a run. The sunrise was awesome and it was one of the only times the Charles River bridge wasn’t completely packed with humans.
We started by going to the Prague Castle Complex.
We walked through the whole thing and then walked down the hill back into the city and stopped for beers.
We walked along the river (with GIANT swans).
To the Piss Sculpture…
Then we crossed the river into the old town to walk around.
We found a huge candy store filled with SOUR CANDY. Of course had to stop and get a bag.
The town square area was beautiful and charming, but also packed with other tourists.
On one end of the bridge, we found a tower that you could climb for some pretty amazing views.
The hotel we stayed at (thanks to a lot of your recommendations!), the Lokal Inn, turned out to be a popular drinking spot. But it was pretty warm inside, so sidewalk beers happened. We grabbed dinner and tried to get some sleep before heading to Plzen the next day.
Every time I mentioned going to Prague, everyone seemed to say it was going to be one of my favorite places. I can see why. It was so beautiful and walkable. I don’t think I would have needed more than 1 day there though. The time we spent felt about right.
