So lately I am really into just hanging out at home. Oh wait, that’s not new. That’s all the time because humans are awful. Or at least like 90% of them.
Anyway, on New Year’s eve we watched the Movie Somm, and it was awesome. It was all about the journey of sommeliers (extra points to Gryffindor because I spelled that correctly the first try) becoming MASTER Sommeliers. It is a long arduous process and in some ways like watching someone train for a marathon haha!
After we watched that, we obviously had to follow up with the sequel. Somm; Into the Bottle. It was more about different types of wine and where they come from, how they are created, and the history behind them. If you enjoy wine or how things are made, I would highly recommend both movies.
On to the scary moment – I ran out by the beach on Thursday morning for the soft sand and beautiful sunrise views.
At mile 4, I suddenly felt something hit my face HARD under my ball cap. I didn’t know what had happened and put my hands up to my face. When I did, they had blood on them (after quickly pausing my Garmin LOL), I looked around to see what could have happened. There was a tiny little bird on the ground!!!!! The poor little thing had hit me in the face and stunned himself to death. I was distraught over the little bird’s death and maybe a little worried that it had scratched the skin near my eye. I almost took an uber home the last three miles, but decided that would make me more upset and just washed my face as soon as I got back.
My face had a very small scratch, and felt bruised the rest of the day, but it was ok. RIP little birdy. I’m so sorry.
I cheered myself up with a poke bowl for lunch from Blue Hawaii. I get a small with double poke.
I was pretty happy to get back home to my Bennie dog after work. I have 16 miles this weekend that I’m looking forward to.
What is your long run for the weekend?
Have you ever had a run in with a bird?
