Happy Hump Day! I have 8 miles and strength on deck and am trying to rev myself up for that. I always wake up, start the coffee pot, and then crank up the heater – because we like to sleep with it pretty cool at night. Before I know it, I’ve turned the house into an inferno LOL.
I am already looking forward to the weekend thanks to this brunch. Breakfast tacos with chicken sausage, green chili, avocado and pico. They were the perfect amount of spicy for me. John got pancakes and I think he was pretty jealous of my pick haha!
After brunch, we went for a short walk and saw a middle school with this track. Initially, we both thought it curved around to be a complete track, but after getting closer we realized it ended at the other end of this field. I turned on my Garmin and we measured it to be 100 meters. Have you ever seen such a thing?! It must have cost so much money for just 100 meters.
I made fish tacos for us the other night and used tilapia with the Trader Joe’s chili lime seasoning. They turned out so good! I just put the fish in foil with olive oil and a ton of the seasoning and grilled on medium for about 5 minutes each side. I got a pound of fish and we did not have leftovers LOL. We had them with mango salsa and black beans and a little guac. YUM.
In other exciting news, we are getting some things planned for part 2 of #boston2berlin! Super exciting and scary all at once. We’ve got flights, and hotels for the race & Oktoberfest. I wish that was beer in the corner of the pic. It is Gu Electrolytes.
My friend Paula posted about the Chasing Perfection documentary on Netflix on Instagram and I watched the first one last night. It is really interesting! Michael Johnson, who was an Olympic sprinter, goes into detail on what makes people into champions. Kind of a nature vs nuture discussion as well. Super cool
All the exciting Boston Gear is coming out! I feel like I am very vulnerable to purchasing it at this stage of training haha! Tracksmith’s new Boston collection is killing me a little bit i want it so bad! I just want the Van Cortlandt Singlet, Shorts and Long Sleeve – just a cool $200 for all three items. YIKES. I put myself of shopping moratorium yesterday.
After these arrived….Eek!! No, I don’t run in Adidas. No, I don’t care. No, I’m saving them in a box and never wearing them. I’ll wear them walking to keep my feet comfy in project #boston2berlin!! I put it to a vote on Instagram for blue or yellow laces, and EVERYONE liked the yellow laces better. But in person, I think of think the blue looks nice – a little more subtle. There is navy trim on the bottom of the shoes that you can’t really see in this picture.
Besides, do we really need to pull any focus away from this gorgeous beautiful unicorn on the back!!!? The only place the shoes have the year on them is really tiny on the lace caps. So if you’ve ever ran Boston before, I think you can wear them without fear of karma or breaking any rules. You can see them here.
Have a great Wednesday!
