Football season is almost over!! YAY! I think Juli from Paleomg.com said it best when she said, “let’s celebrate by eating football-looking things!” SO I am definitely going to be trying our her Siracha Deviled Eggs on the boyfriend. I don’t really like Deviled Eggs, or Siracha. BUT he’s been working like crazy and he loves both of those things and football, so I feel like these might make him really happy. Aren’t I the best?
In other news, hot chocolate should definitely be enjoyed from a BB8 mug if possible. I highly recommend it.
Bennie waiting for his pre workout cookie. He much prefers carpet to the hardwood floors, so he waits in his chair. (As if any of the furniture is off limits to him.) He is starting to get little grey eyebrows and they are so precious. I will say I get irrationally offended when people point out that he’s getting really grey. More so than when someone says I look much older than I am. I don’t want to talk about my pup being old, ok? He is young and full of energy and happy so shut up!! Haha!
John and I had sushi last weekend and I am still craving sushi.
Also this Blackberry Mojito was a Saturday post long run treat. It had just the right balance of mint and fruity and it was so good!
Random side note: This list of 32 product reviews from Amazon was a good one. It had me giggling. I sweat I could get lost in a Buzzfeed rabbit hole so easily.
I am racing a half marathon this weekend. I’m doing another one of those deals where I run 3 warm up miles, run the race, and then run 2 cool down miles. I’m still not sure how I do that without gear check. And if I did have someone to hold my stuff, I would feel bad asking them to stand around while I go run MORE miles than the race they are already standing around waiting for. I am 100% sure I am overcomplicating this. I will figure it out come race day and get back to you.
The race is in San Francisco. It is described as a “fast” course with a “cumulative net loss.” Which would be awesome. I’m just not holding much hope haha! San Francisco is just hilly and there’s no getting around it. But I do think this course avoids any really aggressive hills.
I love races and sometimes think I could sign up for way more. Except you can’t PR at every race, and sometimes you need to run longer miles consecutively, without breaking it up. So I try to keep the racing smart and strategic. Sometimes that “strategy” is even just a fun mental boost to enjoy myself.
100 calorie bag of popcorn + rolling is a good night time activity. If I am just a little hungry the salt and fiber in the popcorn doesn trick.
Do you still race a lot even within a marathon training cycle?
