Got some fun race pictures from the Walnut Creek Half marathon this past weekend with my dad! He made the best out of a tough race situation. We had planned on his third half marathon being the Monterey Bay half, but that was cancelled due to smoke. So we signed up for this race last minute. Monterey Bay was flat – this course, not so much. But he did it! And we had a great time.
We had breakfast at the Buttercup Cafe after, which I did not take a picture of because I eat too fast for my own good.
Still addicted to this breakfast though. I get asked every time I post a photo where I get the bread from. It is whole wheat french bread from the bakery section at Safeway.
How’s that computer screen for a Monday morning?
My dad sent me this article about a 70 year staying fast with strength training and I loved it.
I’ve been trying to take this time that I’m running less miles to work on my strength as well. My Arete co-leader, Paula, has some amazing strength workouts that she shares. You can find her Instagram here.
You can also find a soul-crushing number of articles and ideas by just Googling, “strength training for runners.”
