For my birthday this year, John took me to a build your own succulent place that was really fun. The lady there said succulents are the only plants that thrive off neglect. That is normally my problem with succulents – I over water them and they die.
I am trying not to love it to death, but since it sits in our dinning room where there isn’t much natural light, I set it on the back porch some times for some sun. Bennie also needs a daily dose of sun time.
It’s that time of year where you need a headlamp when you start running, and sunglasses by the time you finish. I’m not complaining about getting the sun in the morning though. I like fall/winter, but the part of it where the sun doesn’t come up until 7:30am is not my favorite.
I use this headlamp from Black Diamond. It is pretty good – although if it isn’t positioned just right, it can definitely bounce around which is annoying. And it does leave a mark on my forehead, even though its mostly comfortable. But otherwise I like it.
I got to ride this horse recently – I loved him, he looks like a giant Barbie dream horse to me!
I mentioned in a recent Instagram post that I’m not registering for Boston this year. I want to prioritize my racing funds towards running London and/or Tokyo. Even if I don’t get in this year, all the marathon majors are pretty speedy. Plus, I’m hoping to have a giant Barbie dream horse of my own again someday soon. I am so excited for everyone registering for Boston for the first time though – and it is always exciting to think about what the heck the weather could possibly be in April 2020 lol!
That’s all the randomness I have today. How do you get through running in the dark all winter?
