Yesterday started off with a run and strength work. My gym just installed a new set up that looks like the workout version of a jungle gym. I gave this rope pulley a try.
You can just pull it down, hand over hand, as well as do a version of wood choppers with it. If you don’t know what that movement looks like – YouTube has plenty of videos. That is how I teach myself to do a lot of different types of lifts, crossfit moves, or to use different machines. I wasn’t hungry when I woke up, so I didn’t have anything before I worked out.
An oatmeal bowl flooded with peanut butter and chocolate coconut butter is how an oatmeal bowl should be. And a TON of cinnamon of course.
He wouldn’t pose for a photo so that’s what he gets.
Later that day, I made a quick smoothie with spinach, peaches, half a scoop of protein powder, and cashew milk.
Dinner was super simple tacos with these low carb tortillas and grass fed 93/7 beef. Plus I snacked on a few carrots while I was heating things up. This was between working and replying to emails. Finally at 7:30 I got that inbox down to a manageable level. WHOOP!
I thawed out one of the “emergency cookie bars” I keep in the fridge for John and had half. It wasn’t made with whole wheat flour, or honey instead of sugar. It was just a normal cookie recipe – with butter, eggs, flour and sugar. It was exactly what I was craving. I think I do better with eating well and more consistently when I have something more often to satisfy those cravings. As opposed to abstaining from everything I want all the time and then losing the ability to say no and eating everything all at once.
I very loosely guesstimate that this day in total was 1622 calories, 112 grams protein, 156 grams carbohydrates and 72 grams of fat. I am not super hung up on hitting exact numbers, but try to keep protein from going above 100 and fats above 60 at least.
Happy HUMP DAY!
