Happy Monday! I have been traveling quite a bit, some of which has been day trips. Sometimes I prefer that to staying overnight, because at least I get to sleep in my own bed. That usually means a really early and late flight, so I will use that as my rest day and shuffle the rest of the week around it.
Monday 2/17: 2 mile warm up, 22 min tempo at 7 min pace with a hard 1 min surge (6:03 pace) at the 12 min mark, 2 mile cool down. 7 miles total on the treadmill at 8:14 average.
Tuesday 2/18: day off – travel day, I left at 4:30am and was home at 8pm. Bruce also got the day off.
Wednesday 2/19: 5.15 miles easy at 9:21 average. After work, I rode Bruce up a huge hill near the barn to check out some trails, and that was pretty cool. Just like doing hill repeats for humans, walking up a hills is great for horses too!
Thursday 2/20: 6.08 miles easy with Anna at 9:04 average. We’ve been running together most Thursday for quite a while now, and this is the first time I’ve driven to the wrong meeting spot. I felt like such an idiot, but also surprised it hasn’t happened sooner. Luckily Anna was awesome and I was able to drive to the correct spot to go run.
Friday 2/21: 11 miles easy at 9:09 average. I felt tired to start, but felt much better after the first couple of miles.
Saturday 2/22: 6 miles easy at 9:34 average. I did this out at at a park and it was nice to get some trails in.
Sunday 2/23: 5.1 miles easy at 9:20 average
