Happy Monday! I am headed out of town for a quick overnight work trip. With my new territory in the Pacific Northwest, I am doing less car travel here at home and more of these quick overnight trips. I am lucky John is home to take good care of Ben!
Monday 2/3: 6 miles easy & upper body weights. I’ve been doing Mondays and Wednesdays on the treadmill at the gym so that I will actually lift weights. I watch Netflix while I run and then go lift for 20 minutes at the very least. It is helping me get back in the swing of doing strength work.
Tuesday 2/4: 2 miles warm up, 4 x 400 “on” at 5k effort, then finish out the mile at half marathon effort, 2 mile cool down. Actual paces were: 6:50/7:38, 6:53/7:19, 6:59/7:15, 5:44/7:11. Total of 8.02 miles at 8:15 average.
Wednesday 2/5: 6 miles easy & lower body strength.
Thursday 2/6: 6 miles easy with my friend Anna. By Thursday I am always so ready to run with a friend.
Friday 2/7: 10 miles easy. This felt really good and it was a crispy cool morning to go along with it.
Saturday 2/8: 4 miles easy. I did this in the evening after driving around wine country. It was pretty hard to get out the door, but I was glad I did. I rode early that morning, which is why I didn’t run first thing.
Sunday 2/9: 45 mins cross training. Normally I would do my Peloton, but I rode Bruce early on Sunday and it ended up being quite the workout lol. I generally ride every day, and some days are more of a physical workout than others. I don’t usually factor it into my workouts, at most I might try to avoid doing a whole bunch of 2 point (which is where you are in a jumping position) the day before a speed workout or something like that.
40 mile week!
