Happy Monday! This week was a little bit lighter – both mileage & strength training wise. It felt nice to take a break from strength training as it isn’t my *most* favorite. I work with Trevor at Perform 4 Life – Run Lab, and we go through 8 week lifting cycles, ending with a deload week and then a full week off from lifting.
Monday 7/15: 6 miles easy at 9:02 avg & a workout with Trevor. Most of the time, I do the workouts he programs for me at my own gym in Marin, but we meet periodically to workout together and check in.
Tuesday 7/16: 4.01 miles easy at 9:01 avg
Wednesday 7/17: 2 miles warm up, 3 x 10 mins with 2:30 walk rest between each (first at 7:30, second at 7:15-20, third at 7:00-10), 2 mile cool down. 2 up, 3 x 10 mins @ 7:30/7:20/7:10 – actual 7:26/7:14/6:52, 2 cool. Total of 8.01 miles at 8:08 avg. I was really happy with this workout – even though I shouldn’t have done the last 2 reps faster.
Thursday 7/18: 5.13 miles easy at 9:21 avg
Friday 7/19: 5.2 miles easy at 11:36 avg with 1300 feet of climbing with friends at Horse Hill.
Saturday 7/20: 12 miles easy at 8:08 avg. I felt great on this run, but most importantly, it was Bennie’s birthday!! My mom sent him the cutest box of goodies. He is 10 and aging like a fine wine 🙂
Sunday 7/21: 45 mins Peloton
About 40.3 miles for the week.
