The air is feeling CRISP this morning! We still have a few weeks of 80-85 degrees in the afternoons here & there, but we are definitely getting to cooler weather. Here’s hoping Chicago will be cool in a few weeks! I’m not running, but have a lot of friends who are.
I got my first 20 miler in for New York this weekend & it felt awesome. I am REALLY nervous for this upcoming weekend’s 20 as I’ll be doing it while we are traveling in Florida. It will be hot and not ideal circumstances, but here’s hoping I can get it done. Here’s how last week shook out.
Monday 9/23: Upper body weights & core. 7.01 miles easy at 9:23 average
Tuesday 9/24: 6 miles easy at 10:13. I run so much slower in the dark lol.
Wednesday 9/25: warm up, 12 x 200 on (44/45/45/44/44/46/44/45/42/44/41/40), 200 off, cool down. Total of 8 miles at 8:58 average. I had a really good sunrise too!
I also go to ride that evening 🙂 It was HOT.
Thursday 9/26: Weights & 8 miles easy at 10:17 avg with Anna. SO dark even though we both had headlamps – we took it really slow.
Friday 9/27: 9 miles easy with my Dad! He is getting ready for the Monterey Bay half.
Saturday 9/28: 20 miles – all easy at 8:43 pace overall. I was able to cut down at the end and felt great. I took gels at miles 5, 10 & 15.
58 miles for the week
Saturday we went to Sierra Nevada’s Oktoberfest which was a blast! Not quite the same as the one in Munich – but a good alternative! We got to go with my parents which was a lot of fun too!
