Happy Tuesday! A day late with this blog post. Day light savings always makes the Monday after feel a little weird – you can’t go to sleep because your body’s internal clock is all thrown off, and the Sunday scaries are twice as bad haha. Here is what last week looked like for workouts –
I have been grounded from traveling for work due to Coronavirus, like a lot of people, so I have been home for the last couple of weeks.
Monday 3/2: 5 miles easy at 9:30 on the treadmill + weights
Tuesday 3/3: 2 miles up, 10 x 30 seconds uphill at race effort with jog down rest, 2 miles cool. Total of 6.25 miles at 9:47 average. While the overall pace wasn’t anything fancy, it was the best I’d felt doing hill repeats in a while. Some of the hills in my area are a little aggressive for hill repeats, but you work with what you have.
Wednesday 3/4: 6.01 miles easy on the treadmill + weights
Thursday 3/5: 7.03 miles easy with Anna at 9:32 average. We did one of our favorite loops with a big hill that about killed me. We figured we better do it before we are back to the sun not coming up until 7:30am.
Friday 3/6: 11.01 miles easy at 9:01 average. I felt really good this day!
We also took our engagement photos on Friday – with Bennie & Bruce. John is a total champion. Fingers crossed they come out!
Sat 3/7: 45 min Peloton ride. I rode Bruce in the indoor arena since it was raining. He likes the big outdoor arena SO much better, but he was really good. It ended up being another workout since he needed to work off some energy ha!
Sunday 3/8: I was supposed to run 5 miles easy and ride this day, but I felt exhausted. I ended up decided to sleep, run some errands with John, and just went out to the barn to let Bruce graze. When I got there, he was napping and seemed pretty exhausted too. So I laid down with him for about 20 mins. His eye looks open in this picture, but he was snoring and kind of running his feet like sleeping dogs do sometimes haha.
35 miles and some change for the week. I was glad I took the rest day – sometimes you just need a day off!
